Scope and Content At the L foreground of this image of Auchleven village is a grassy mound, probably a motte, called Castle Hillock. "A 'tumulus' 80' in diameter at base, which stood 18' high until about the end of the 18th century, 6' of the originally rounded top being subsequently removed by cultivation etc." It was excavated in 1859. To its left is an old watermill and associated kiln. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
