Scope and Content No 87 George Street was built in c.1775 as a dwelling. The interior was carried out by David Bryce, 1835 as a conversion for the jewellers, Hunter Marshall. The shopfront was updated in 1910 and 1993. The shop/retails area on the ground floor is the finest surviving 19th century shop interior in Edinburgh. Hamilton and Inches, jewellers, founded 1866.
