Scope and Content A beehive-shaped dovecot, 16 1/4' in internal diameter and c. 30' high. Above the door, in the N, the walls converge towards the circular entry at the top, and are built in four stages, defined by string courses. Internally, there are some 600 nests ranged round the walls in tiers. It is undated, but likely to have been built towards the end of the 16th century. It was in use in 1683, repointed in 1702, and still in use in 1746. Archaeology Notes, Event ID 712921.
