Scope and Content Aerial view of Inverness, Highland 20th-century Inverness is the result of continuous expansion begun in the early 19th century. Popular with retired people since its connection to the rail network in 1855, its main industries are now brewing and distilling, and tourism. This aerial view shows Inverness in 1991.
