Archive History The collection comprises two accessions of material bought by RCAHMS: Accession Number 1976/5: Drawings of Springwood Park, Kelso by J Gillespie Graham, Brown & Wardrop etc., and Accession Number 1977/17: Collection of drawings relating to Springwood Park Estate, Roxburghshire, including additions to Mansion House and additions to Long Newton Place etc..
Access Conditions There are no restrictions upon access.
Administrative History Built in the mid-eighteenth century Springwood Park was the country seat of the Scott Douglas family. The original building was substantially altered and enlarged in the 1820s, to the designs of the architect, James Gillespie Graham, who was probably also responsible for the design of the family mausoleum, in the form of a neo-classical temple. The house has been demolished.
