Scope and Content Kytra Lock is situated to the SW of Fort Augustus on the Caledonian Canal. The lock-keepers' cottages are now used as holiday lets (2021). In 2019 the lock gates were replaced at Kytra and Fort Augustus and that section of the canal was drained to allow the work to go ahead. There is a spillway at bottom right of picture.
