Scope and Content The Cromarty Firth was an important naval base during both world wars and there are many wartime remains on both Easter Ross and the Black Isle though this view is too distant to identify any. Now it acts as an important base for the oil industry and surplus oil rigs are often parked, as here, in the Firth. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
