Description An oblique aerial view of the Cashell, Achany Glen, Lairg, Sutherland, looking SE.

Date 2001

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1907026

Scope and Content A close view of part of a ridge alongside the River Shinn with the clearance cairns of a bronze or iron age settlement dominating the picture. The most obvious roundhouse lies to the right of and below centre below the track which runs across the picture with a further possibility to its left. A third may lie on the edge of the ridge in the centre of the lower left quadrant and there is what appears to be a line of three above and left of that one, and above the track. A footbridge across the river is visible far right. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
