Date 2000
Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland
Catalogue Number SC 1906827
Category On-line Digital Images
Scope and Content A close view of part of the former township. Dominating the image are fields, cultivation ridges, consumption dykes and enclosures with the head dyke long the right hand side. There are two longhouses lower left and another just visible in the upper left. Between and to the right of the first two longhouses a drying kiln has been built into a steep bank. To its right and above the kiln are the faint outlines of possible earlier enclosures and buildings can be seen and there is a suspiciously circular mound just right of the upper centre and below the straight ditch running across the image. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
