Scope and Content This is a general view of the southern and south-eastern areas of Inverness. The Bught Park is at centre left. The Bught Estate was bought by the town in 1923 and developed as a sports area with the creation of sports pitches, the building of the ice rink (1968), and the Aqua dome (1997). Holm Woollen Mill, opened in 1771 by James Pringle of Brora is on the riverside above the weir. The areas of Holm, Lochardil, Drummond, Hilton and Culcabock stretch from bottom right to top left. Raigmore Hospital, opened in 1941, is at top left and below it is Culcabock Golf Course, established in 1886.
