Scope and Content Cairn at Nether Largie (Mid), Argyll and Bute There are two Bronze Age cairns at Nether Largie, near Kilmartin. They stand about 150 m apart. Both the cairns were excavated between 1929-30. This is a view of the ruined Mid Cairn. It is surrounded by a kerb of big stones. Two cists were found during excavations in 1929, one made up of side-slabs with grooves, although both were empty. One slab was decorated with cup-marks and axe-marks.
