Scope and Content In the angle of the meeting of the Allt an Sgiobail and the Brora, Canmore records two possible hut circles, possibly also later used as sheepfolds, but the image indicates three circles -- one truncated by river erosion. Halfway up the same side of the Allt but possibly obscured by heather in this image, two shieling huts are recorded. At lower left edge of image, on pale grassland, part of an irregular enclosure is visible, possibly associated with the 18th-C Kerrymanoch township which included this area, and whose head dyke is seen at lower right. At top right corner of image, stone enclosures are among several small features of a post-mediaeval farming settlement, with house, kailyard, grain drier and possible clearance cairn. A hut circle recorded nearby, close to the road, is not visible on this image. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
