Scope and Content This is a close view of Skibo Castle which started life as a Bishop's Palace in the C16 and was rebuilt by Andrew Carnegie at the end of the C19 as a grand mansion. It now operates as the Carnegie Club, an exclusive private members club. The view includes the formal gardens to the right of the castle and the Home Farm at centre top. The glasshouses are to the left of the castle. Loch Ospidale is at bottom right with the swimming pool, stables and former power station.
