Scope and Content The River Beauly is in the foreground. Across the river is Beaufort Castle seat of the Frasers of Lovat, built in the 1930's, as the last of many rebuildings of a castle on this site. After the battle at Culloden, 1746, it was burnt to the ground by Cumberland's army. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
