Scope and Content The photo shows the University of Bradford excavation of a unique Pictish monastic site, led by Prof Martin Carver, over successive years, 1994-2007. At upper middle is Tarbat Old Parish Church, the centre of the previous monastery precinct, with the excavation to its left. Portmahomack Harbour is to the right, which was improved by Telford 1811-18. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
