Scope and Content Syre is a small community in Strathnaver, south of Bettyhill. The church and cemetery is left of centre and Syre Lodge is on the right. The enclosures and hut circles in the foreground are at Dalvina Lodge. Patrick Sellar, a key figure in the Sutherland Clearances, had a farmhouse at Syre, the one with the red roof behind the church.
