Scope and Content A very wide view of Halkirk with the road bridge visible left of centre. To its right the Ross Institute and the Parish Church are catching the sunlight and above them towards the upper left the white gable wall of the manse stands out from surrounding by trees. Across the river to the left the 19th century Braal Castle and the site of an earlier castle are enveloped by more woodland and just below the woodland is the site of a 20th century military camp. The site of the medieval Bishop's Palace lies in the field above the manse and right of the castle. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
