Scope and Content Kildonan Lodge is situated to the NW of Helmsdale. It was built as a hunting lodge in 1896 and has extensive gardens, including a kitchen garden which is accessed via the suspension bridge over the River Helmsdale. The Lodge can be seen at top of picture to the right of the strut and the suspension bridge and kitchen garden are at top centre. There are prehistoric remains in the area at bottom of picture.
