Scope and Content Cromarty House in the foreground to the right is a classical Mansion built in 1772, and sits in a designed landscape. It has an ice house, stables and a servants tunnel. The graveyard contains the ruins of St Regulus's chapel. The site of Cromarty Castle was to the left of the house, on higher ground: it dates from 15c and belonged to the Urquhart family. It was demolished in 1772 as the house was being built. The fishertown area of Cromarty is at the top of the photo. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
