Scope and Content Cromarty House in the centre, is a classical Mansion built in 1772, and sits in a designed landscape. It has an ice house, stables and a servants tunnel. The graveyard contains the ruins of St Regulus's chapel. The site of Cromarty Castle was to the left of the house, on higher ground: it dates from 15c and belonged to the Urquhart family. It was demolished in 1772 as the house was being built. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
