Description Aerial view of Cromarty Firth, looking W.
Date 1998
Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland
Catalogue Number SC 1896612
Category On-line Digital Images
Scope and Content The main part of the view is of the Cromarty Firth. In the summer a ferry runs across the narrows in the foreground between Nigg on the right and Cromarty on the left. Cromarty is too distant to note much detail, but has a harbour constructed circa 1880, which played an important part in the hemp industry and fishing. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
