Scope and Content Dunbeath Castle is a substantial laird's house dating to the early C17 on the site of an earlier building. In the C19 it was modified and extended. It remained in the hands of the Sinclair family until 1945, when it was sold to the first of a succession of private owners. It remains in private hands (2020). The drive runs NW to the old A9, which was realigned in the second half of the C20. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
