Scope and Content Kilcoy Castle is in the centre. It is a Z-plan Tower House, four storeys high, built in 1618 by James Stewart of Newton. It became a roofless ruin, but was restored as a habitable dwelling. Below it is the Mains of Kilcoy where there are Canmore and HER references to a steading and farmhouse.
