Scope and Content The Muirtown Basin lies between the Muirtown Locks and the Clachnaharry Lock at the north-west end of the Caledonian Canal. The railway line crosses the canal by the Clachnaharry Swing Bridge at bottom of picture. Clachnaharry and Scorguie are at right of picture, Muirtown and Dalneigh are in the centre and the centre of Inverness with its satellite housing estates at Lochardil and Holm are on the eastern side of the river.
