Scope and Content The Battle of Culloden was fought on Drumossie Moor to the east of Inverness in April 1746 and was the last pitched battle to be fought on British soil. The battlefield has been preserved as a monument and a new visitor centre was opened in 2008. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
