Scope and Content This view shows part of southern Lismore with Bernera Island on its west shore in the foreground. Bernera has the remains of a chapel and burial ground (Canmore Reference; 22656). Several fish traps have been recorded in the inlets between Bernera and Lismore and the ruinous remains of the 13th century Achadun Castle (Canmore ID; 23018) occupying the summit of a prominent ridge can be seen in the left half of the view. Beyond Lismore the Benderloch and Oban area on the mainland are seen. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
