Scope and Content This view shows Plockton airstrip (Canmore ID 128080). The village of Plockton (Canmore ID 11905) is out of the view on the left. It is a model village and was laid out in a spirit of economic optimism for the Earl of Seaforth in 1794. The Dingwall to Kyle of Lochalsh railway traverses the middle of the view, Plockton Station (Canmore ID 128079) is amongst the buildings in the left centre of the view. Two lithic scatters (Canmore IDs 240659 and 240657) in the fields above the shoreline were recorded in the Scotland's First Settlers Project of 2002.
