Scope and Content Gordonstoun House, in centre of image, is a 17th-C country house, re-faced in the 18th-C, and incorporating a medieval tower house. It is the core building of Gordonstoun School. The Round Square, to right of centre, is a late 17th-C stable block, converted for school use. To left of the Round Square, the cone-shaped top of a 16th-C dovecot can be seen among the trees. A Class II Pictish symbol stone, found in a stone heap in the grounds, is now outside the Headmaster's Room. At the top of the image is one of the runways of RAF Lossiemouth, an airfield which dates from World War 2. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
