Scope and Content This view shows Loch an Eilein, on the Isle of Tiree, with at its centre, Island House (Canmore ID 21451) built by the Duke of Argyll in 1748 for his factor. This location is also that of a Medieval Tower House and Castle. In the distance on the right is Ben Hynish and Carnan Mhor with its radar station (Canmore ID 302026) and prehistoric landscape (Canmore ID 357725) and on the left the buildings at Hynish (Canmore ID 21415 and 21416) the base from where in 1837-43, Alan Stevenson, constructed the Skerryvore lighthouse.
