Scope and Content This view shows the livestock market 3kms south of Lairg. The Lairg Auction Market and market stance has been and still is important to the economy of the North of Scotland for its sheep sales. The railway and Lairg Station (Canmore ID 5131) are clearly seen in the foreground also the animal pens in the upper part of the view beyond the road.
