Scope and Content At lower centre of image, opposite the nearest group of buildings, a straight line of boulders underwater represents a possible fish trap. A smithy is shown on the 1st-edition OS, to left of cottage at centre right of image. Modern settlement concentrates on the low ground, as shown by the two farm steadings in this image, but there is extensive evidence of settlement and farming throughout the island, dating back to prehistoric times.
