Scope and Content The tapered bay in the foreground is Port Mor, the landing place and main settlement on Muck. To left of leftmost road junction at the head of the bay, the burial ground and chapel remains at A'Chill include a cross slab and cross-incised stone. Nearby is the former township of Sean Bhaile. The headland on left at the mouth of the bay has a fort, Caisteal an Duin Bhain. Modern settlement concentrates on the low ground, but there is extensive evidence of settlement and farming everywhere on the island, dating back to prehistoric times, and there are numerous cairns, including the remains of a kerbed cairn (Aird nan Uan, the headland to left of the sandy beach of Gallanach, at centre left). In upper left sector of image, the largest islet, Eilean nan Each, has features including a Bronze Age hut circle and field system.
