Date 1993

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1864977

Scope and Content In the centre is Loch Moy. On the island the original Moy House was built in the early Middle Ages, the country seat of the Bishops of Moray. Nothing remains of this however. It was superseded by Moy House on the shore. The obelisk on the island is a memorial to Sir Aeneas MacIntosh. To the left is a possible crannog, on Eilean nan Clach, supposedly the site of a prison with a submerged causeway to the house. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
