Scope and Content This is a wide general view of Inverness showing both sides of the River Ness. There are many sites of interest but few can be easily identified here. Ord Hill, with its vitrified fort is at top left with the Kessock Bridge, opened in 1982, below it. Inverness High School is left of centre. This school was established in the mid C19 in the Crown and moved to this site in 1937. At the bottom of the picture is part of Bught Park which was bought for the town in 1923 and has facilities for a variety of sports.
