Scope and Content Golspie is a planned village, laid out in 1805. The pier was established to provide a safe landing place for boats serving nearby Dunrobin Castle. The High School, opened in 1963, is at the left. It was on this site that a Pictish symbol stone was discovered in 1942. It is now in Dunrobin Museum.
