Scope and Content This view shows Beaufort Castle (Canmore ID 12746), former seat of Lord Lovat chief of the Clan Fraser, built in 1885. The castle has extensive parklands. A coach house (Canmore ID 228952) is in the trees to the left of the castle. The river Beauly with its cruives/weirs (as yet unrecorded) is clearly seen in the upper part of the view. The rectangular earthwork in the centre of the view may be part of a course for horse trials (see HER). Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
