Description Aerial view of Lochs Duntelchaig, a'Choire and Ruthven, S of Inverness, looking SE.

Date 1987

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1863098

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content This view is of the E side of Loch Duntelchaig, looking across to Loch a'Choire and then Loch Ruthven. The clearing in the trees on the side of the loch is called Leiterchullin, although an old settlement of the same name is now hidden by trees (above and to the R, above the rough track). This was surveyed in 1994. There are numerous settlements with associated field systems recorded in the archaeological record in the flat ground, called Tullich & Garoline, just above centre, to the L of the two lochs. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
