SC 1863090

Description Aerial view of Morilemore, S of Tomatin, near Inverness, looking NNE.

Date 1987

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1863090

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content The road down the photo is now a minor road, leading S from Tomatin, at the W of the Findhorn River, although previously the main (A9) road south from Inverness. At centre is the cruck-framed Morilemore Farm, with it's three-sided steading. At the left of the photo, on the higher ground, is the Morilemore prehistoric field system with field boundaries and lynchets. The two circular features at bottom L are probably cattle feeding stances. The area of the photo has now (2020) been heavily built on. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
