Scope and Content Temporary camp at Broadlea, Dumfries and Galloway This Roman temporary camp is at Broadlea. It was built on flat ground overlooking the haugh of the Mein Water. No surface remains are visible. The Roman camp was built over a prehistoric henge. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp can be seen as a series of cropmarks in the middle of the image. Entrances can be seen in the top (S) and right (W) sides. The W side passes though the two entrances of the earlier, prehistoric henge. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
