Scope and Content A collection of photographs of buildings in and around Largs, c.1968-73, and from a survey of graveyard monuments, Largs Parish Kirkyard, carried out by Largs and District Historical Society, 1985.

Archive History Photographs of Largs lent to RCAHMS for copying, 1980. Graveyard survey presented to RCAHMS by Largs and District Historical Society, c.1990. Accessioned retrospectively as Acc No 2005/220.

System of Arrangement The graveyard survey is arranged in order of monument survey number.

Access Conditions Open, but note that the collection has not yet been fully catalogued. Access may be subject to provisions outlined in the Data Protection Act and conservation requirements. Please contact the archive to confirm access in advance of a visit.

Administrative History Largs and District Historical Society is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the promotion and research into the history of the local area. It organises a programme of regular talks and outings to places of interest. The Society is also responsible for Largs Museum. Between 1985 and 1986 the Society carried out a detailed survey of the memorials of Largs Parish Kirkyard.
