Administrative History George IV Bridge, built 1829-34, after design by the architect Thomas Hamilton. Edinburgh Sheriff Court, built 1863-8 after design by the architect David Bryce, and demolished 1937. The site of the Court building is now occupied by the National Library of Scotland.
