The ditch is broad and is broken by an entrance causeway on the SE. This aerial photograph was taken in 1976 and looks towards the north-west. The ditch of the henge is visible as a dark penannular ring near the centre. To the south-west, the cropmark of a segmented ring-ditch can be seen. Both were excavated in 1988. This small henge was situated in a cultivated field to the W of the Ruthven Water. It was excavated in 1988 prior to pan-busting. During the excavation, a pit was discovered outside the henge. This pit contained Beaker sherds. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
