Scope and Content A collection comprising at least 83 photographic prints mounted on cards of sites across Scotland including Melrose Abbey and Jedburgh Abbey, Roxburghshire; Stirling Castle, Stirlingshire; Kilchurn Castle and Iona Abbey; Argyll; Eilean Donan Castle, Ross and Cromarty; Inverlochy Castle, Invergarry Castle and House, Urquhart Castle and Dunvegan Castle, Inverness-shire; and Elgin Cathedral, Morayshire. The collection also includes photographs of Caerlaverock Castle, Lincluden Abbey, Lochhouse Tower and Hollows Tower, Dumfries-shire; Carsluith Castle, Dundrennan Abbey and Sweetheart Abbey, Kirkcudbrightshire; Ardstinchar Castle, Kilwinning Abbey and Cross and bridge in Ayr, Ayrshire; Paisley Abbey, Renfrewhire and Castle Kennedy, St Ninian's Chapel, Dunskey Castle, Luce Abbey and the Old Church in Portpatrick, Wigtownshire. The photographer has been recorded as Gowland and all the photographs are dated between 1932 and 1936, except for three prints of Stirling Castle dated 1939.
