Scope and Content A collection of 35 prints and film negatives of sites across Scotland including buildings in Edinburgh, Stirling, Linlithgow and Pertshire; Jedburgh Abbey and Melrose Abbey, Roxburghshire and Ardwell Castle, Kirkcudbrightshire. The photographs were taken by Judge E M Konstam and are dated between 1900 and 1936.
Archive History Deposited with the National Buildings Record Scottish Council between 1941-1954. Photographs by Konstam were donated to the National Buildings Record in London in 1943 and it is possible that this Scottish collection was passed from them at the time.

Administrative History The Right Honourable Judge Edwin Max Konstam (1870-1956) was a County Court judge and best known as writer of books such as 'The Law of Income Tax' and 'Law of land values'. He was the brother of the actress and painter Gertrude Kingston. The prints record the photographer as 'Konstam' or 'Judge E M Konstam' and the negative envelopes as 'Judge Konstam K. C.'.
