Scope and Content A collection of postcards and photographs of buildings, mainly in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Argyll. Subject matter includes landscapes, streetscapes, interiors and architectural details. Also: a collection of 76 sheets of wallpaper designs by Robert Hamilton (died 1925), Melbourne Cottage, 60 Glasgow Road, Strathaven, who designed for Morton of Darvel. Small collection of books and photographs from the office of H G Taylor, Taylor Associates, 17 Barns Street, Ayr. Includes 'The Petit Trianon', Arnott & Wilson, inscribed 'Andrew Mackenzie, Nov. 5th 1907' and five presentation views of an unidentified hall (Fullarton?) decorated for a function in the early 1900's.

Archive History The postcards and photographs were donated by Ms Andrew in the 1980s. The Robert Hamilton designs were donated in 1995 (Acc No 1995/42), together with the H G Taylor material, which had been collected by Ms Andrew on the closure of the practice. A group of photographs of Prestwick was lent for copying in 1986.
