Scope and Content Temporary camp at Glenluce, Dumfries and Galloway This Roman temporary camp at Glenluce was discovered through aerial survey in 1994. It stands on the left bank of the Water of Luce. The site was probably a marching-camp. Nothing remains of it on the ground. This is an aerial view of the site. A rounded corner and one side of the camp can be seen as cropmarks. An entrance can be seen halfway down the longer side. The camp was probably square in plan and faced NW towards a crossing point for the river. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
