Scope and Content Earthworks at Whitcastle Hill, Scottish Borders A cluster of earthworks sit atop Whitcastle Hill. The location is impressive, a ridge aligned NW to SE with commanding views in all directions. The earthworks consist of what may be a fort with four smaller earthworks clustered around it. Lying on the SE flank of the flattish summit of Whitcastle Hill are two other earthworks. These may in fact be a group of settlements of different periods. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
