Scope and Content Temporary camp and enclosure at Woodhead, Midlothian This Roman temporary camp and enclosure are at Woodhead, Midlothian. The enclosure surrounds the camp. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp can be seen in the centre of the image as a series of cropmarks. All four angles, and most of the sides can be made out. One of the two entrances is also clearly visible in the lower side of the camp. The fort was discovered in 1976 through aerial photography. It was excavated in 1983. The camp was possibly a Flavian labour camp. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
