Scope and Content Temporary camps at Inveravon, West Lothian These Roman three temporary camps are at Inveravon. Built on level ground, they lie about 400 m SE from the Roman fortlet, and overlook the River Avon. No trace of the camps remains on the ground. This is an aerial view of the site. The smaller of the two camps seen here, 0.3 ha in area, can be seen as a series of cropmarks in the centre of the image. It has an entrance in the N side. It overlaps the S side of the larger camp.0.3 ha and 3.0 ha. These were possibly construction camps for the Antonine Wall. Fieldwalking yielded a number of finds from prehistoric to medieval times.
