Scope and Content Fortlet and temporary camp at Summerston, City of Glasgow This Roman fortlet and temporary camp are at Summerston. The fortlet abuts the S side of the Antonine Wall, with the camp lying about 30 m away to the S. The remains have been reduced by ploughing and quarrying. This is an aerial view of the site. The fortlet, camp and the Antonine Wall can be seen as a series of cropmarks. Both the fortlet and the camp were surrounded by single ditches. The site was first recognised through aerial photography in 1977. It was examined in November 1980. Some section's of the camp's ditch still survived to 1.55m wide by 0.55 m deep.
